Jamaican Gold
REGGAE4AFRICA works in partnership with Jamaican Gold the longest running Reggae promotional team in California, possibly the World.
Starting almost Ten Years ago, this Reggae Show Throwing Team was to become legendary.
Since then, Jamaican Gold creators Q-Bwoy and Dj White Lightning, two of the West Coast musical trend setters, gathered the greatest Dj talents in the USA and threw the best  ‘Reggae bashments’ around- and soon, Jamaican Gold became a popular name around the globe.

Jamaican Gold brings a selection of top ranking Reggae artists and DJ’s, with a deadly mix of Roots, Dance Hall, and Hip Hop. Jamaican Gold Sound has been known to ‘bun a fyah pon di dancefloor’, all over the US, as well as Japan, Europe, Morocco (Agadir 2005), and of course Jamaica- to name a few.  The Jamaican Gold Century Club Sundays became a legendary Hollywood event, attended by the greatest West Coast talent, and was mentioned in many famous songs by artists such as Snoop Dog and Dr Dre.  Jamaican Gold has organized, and still blazes the trail with music festivals and regular performances from some of the biggest names in Reggae: The Junior Gong Crew (brothers Ziggy, Stephen and Damian Marley) Sean Paul, Beenie Man, Elephant Man, TOK, Mr. Vegas,
Ce' Cile, Yellow Man, Shaba Ranks, Boom Shaka, Half Pint and many others. If they're authentic Reggae artists, they know Jamaican Gold. The special relationship with these artists over the years has allowed Jamaican Gold to organize some of the hottest musical events in the West Coast. So whether you are in Southern California, or wherever in the world we go, we hope to see you and make you groove to your favourite sound.  Jamaican Gold’s association with Reggae4Africa is taking the message of Reggae worldwide to encourage the spreading of humanitarian values concerned with Africa, and improve the lives of poor children everywhere.
This year, in August 2007, will see the Reggae Dream Team in Essaouira, Morocco, for the first international REGGAE4AFRICA Festival on the African continent.

Ras Michael, a living legend of Reggae, grew up in a Rastafarian community at St. Mary where he learned hand drumming, eventually becoming a master-drummer. In the early 60s, he formed the Sons Of Negus, a Rastafarian group of drummers and singers. In the mid-60s he founded his own Zion Disc label, and started to release a series of singles including "Lion Of Judah", "Ethiopian National Anthem" and "Salvation'. These recordings, on which guitar and bass usually augment the group, show a remarkable degree of invention and subtlety.
Around 1966, he recorded at Studio One as a percussionist, playing with Jackie Mittoo And The Soul Vendors in exchange for studio time. In the early 70s he recorded Dadawah Peace And Love, on which studio musicians augmented his group, a blend of Rastafarian chant, reggae, Southern soul and psychedelia greatly enhanced by its imaginative arrangements. Hearing Ras’ music, Bob Marley publicly said that Ras Michael was one of his main inspirations. In 1975, Ras recorded Rastafari, on which several well-known reggae musicians augmented his group. He augmented his group again for 1978"s Kabir Am Lak (Glory To God) and Movements, both of which are strong albums. Ras has over 14 albums to date. He also recorded a single entitled, "Children of the Universe", with back up sounds of the original "Wailers". This musical master has done work with the greatest in the Reggae music industry. While touring in Paris, the legendary Rastafarian Bob Marley was asked to comment on the talent of Ras Michael as a performer and he replied, "Ras Michael is a roots master and a Niyabinghi specialist. He tells you like it is". Ras is also featured in the British Guinness Book of World Records on Reggae music coming out of Jamaica.  Ras Michael has toured the U.S. and is known worldwide, likewise is his music, which is the heart of the African Rasta Roots music world.RAS MICHAEL
